The 2019 Whistler Regional: Friday, November 1

Whistler Trivia 4

Two parter today: first, in 2010 when Canada became the first nation to top the gold-medal table at a Winter Olympics since Norway in 1954, which country was second in gold medals? Second, how many gold medals did Canada win at the two previous Olympic games held in Canada: Summer 1976 in Montreal and Winter 1988 in Calgary?  (Answer at the bottom of the page.)

Attendance So Far

1103½ tables at the end of Friday play; up from 2017 by 107 tables (+10.7%).  Beautiful, cool but clear weather here in Whistler may be keeping some away from the tables, but we are still on pace for a very good number for a Regional on it's third run.

Trivia answer: Although the USA won the most total medals in Vancouver-Whistler 2010, Germany was second in gold medals with 10, four back of Canada's Winter Games record 14.  About time too, in the previous Games held in Montreal and Calgary, Canada had not won a single gold medal!
